The pet journal that writes itself

Every day with them, written down. By them.

Dear Hooman finds the photos and videos of your pet already on your phone and turns them into a diary in their own voice — the zoomies, the naps, the little noises you never want to forget. You just live the moments.

Saturday · June 28

Dear Hooman, today you said "who's a good boy" eleven times and I am still unable to confirm who it is. At 6:42 pm you dropped a piece of chicken and pretended it was an accident. It was not. The evening walk smelled like rain and somebody else's sandwich. I love you enormously.

Written automatically from 3 photos + 1 video on your phone. Edit anything.

Why we're building this

Your camera roll is full of them. Their story isn't written anywhere.

"I can't believe I don't have a single video of her running."

— pet parent, r/Petloss

"I hate the idea of forgetting her purrs."

— cat parent, r/Petloss

"I was trying to live in the moment, but I could've taken videos too."

— dog parent, r/dogpictures

You shouldn't have to choose between living the moment and keeping it. Dear Hooman keeps it for you — while they're right here next to you.

How it works

Three steps. One of them is yours.

1

Point us at your camera roll

On-device AI finds every photo and video of your pet — past and future. No uploading marathons, no manual albums.

2

They start writing

Each day with new moments becomes a diary entry in their voice — playful, warm, and yours to edit. A personality quiz sets their tone: dramatic, regal, or certified goofball.

3

Keep it forever

Monthly mini-films you'll actually share. A printed yearbook once a year. And free export of everything, always — your memories are never locked in.

What you get

Made for the small moments — the ones you'll miss most.

The diary

Their story, in their voice

Warm, funny, editable storytelling — never fake "pet translation." You're always the editor, and plain captions are one tap away.

Sounds

The little noises

One-tap recordings of the purr, the snore, the tippy-taps on the kitchen floor. Saved forever, right next to that day's entry.

The mini-film

A tiny premiere, monthly

Every month, a 30-second recap film of their best moments — made automatically, shared in one tap.

Milestones

Gotcha days & firsts

First snow, 100th walk, the day they finally caught the ball. We spot them; you celebrate them.

The yearbook

Real paper. Real forever.

Once a year, their whole story arrives as a printed hardcover. The book you'll pick up and look through for decades.

Your data

Yours, always

Free export of everything — photos, films, entries, sounds — forever. Even if you cancel. Memories should never be held hostage.

Fair questions

The things you're wondering.

Is the AI voice going to be cringey?

It's storytelling, not science — we never claim to "translate" your pet. The voice is warm and playful, tuned by a personality quiz, and every single entry is editable. If it's not your thing, switch to plain captions and Dear Hooman becomes a beautiful automatic journal.

I have cats. Is this actually for cats?

Built for cats from day one — not a dog app with whiskers painted on. Purr and meow recordings are a headline feature, and the voice styles include "benevolent landlord."

What happens when they're gone?

When you're ready — and only if you choose — their journal becomes a quiet place of memories: the films, the sounds, the printed book. Nothing automated, nothing pretending. Their voice never writes new entries. It's your place, at your pace.

Who owns my photos and entries?

You do, completely. Everything exports free, forever, in normal formats — photos, videos, films, and text. Cancelling never locks a single memory.
